Text Box: People Talking about the big show
Yes people will be talking about the big Wood Carving Show IF we take interest and promote it.
Our clubs Annual Woodcarvers Guild Show and Sale is just around the corner. That corner this year is as usual on Labor Day weekend. Saturday and Sunday September 2 & 3. Hours both days are 10 am-5 pm. Admission is free for sales demonstrations and exhibits.
Show chairman and Guild president Clark Adams states that all available tables and spaces are secured by carvers and vendors.
Prizes and tickets are ready and now what is needed is the interest and participation by all club members.
The location is the same, it will be in the air conditioned Pine Room (Crispin Center). Directions from I-70, take the Oglebay Exit then take route 88, North to the Park and follow the signs.
This will be the 29íth consecutive show.
Text Box: This year again, raffle tickets for the exquisite prizes will be mailed to all active and non active members. Please sell or buy the tickets as this is the main reason that club dues are only $5.00 per year; no admission is charged for the show; our ability to fund various charities ($3048.00 last year) and to make available to members the carving resources of books, tapes, tools, lumber, etc.
By attending the Monday evening or Thursday morning carving (or talk) sessions affords active or non carving members to stay in contact with each other. Formal meeting are held quarterly and are very brief.
Stop in from time to time we would like to see you and recall your name too.
Remember it is not required to have a table to participate in the show activities. If you wish you can assist in greeting visiting carvers then helping with loading and unloading of their carvings. Assisting our own members in this moving process is appreciated by those in need of assistance.
Also members will be needed to greet the visiting public and to pass out flyers at the entrance and direct others.
You are welcome to attend the Saturday evening dinner by submitting your name on the sign up sheet at the club or by calling one of the officers. It is not required that you have a table folks.
